Transforming the Indie Film Viewing Experience

FilmSlate is a video streaming platform designed to deliver a personalized, immersive experience for indie film enthusiasts. Leading this initiative, I developed a strategic vision that integrated tailored onboarding, curated content recommendations, and a vibrant community hub.

Redefining Indie Film Experience 

Indie film enthusiasts often face fragmented content discovery and limited opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals. Mainstream platforms fail to cater to these needs, offering generic recommendations that don’t align with their unique tastes. The absence of community engagement further leaves users feeling disconnected.

To address these challenges, I designed FilmSlate with a dual focus:

Captures and reflects user preferences from the start.

These solutions simplify content discovery, foster meaningful interactions, and deliver a fulfilling experience tailored to indie film lovers. Reflecting the creativity and connection of indie films, this vision guided the FilmSlate experience.

My Role

Product Management Leadership

I directed the development of FilmSlate, leveraging agile product management methodologies to transform user insights, market trends, and competitive analysis into a clear and actionable strategy. Collaborating with a diverse network of subject-matter experts, industry leaders, and fellow product managers, I ensured alignment between strategic priorities, user needs, and organizational goals.

Guided by insights from cutting-edge digital practices, I engaged with external stakeholders, including users and interviewees, to uncover key onboarding challenges and user behaviors. These insights informed actionable strategies, which were further refined through collaborative sprints to ensure technical rigor, business alignment, and user-centricity.
