Enhancing Closed Captioning for Accessibility
In collaboration with Sky Glass—Sky’s built-in TV with integrated streaming—I partnered with Sky’s leadership team to reimagine the closed captioning system, making it accessible, customizable, and inclusive for dyslexic viewers. Through user-tested font options, innovative customization features, and adherence to global accessibility standards, I created a solution that enhanced user experience, elevated inclusivity, and positioned Sky Glass as a leader in accessible streaming services.

Sky Glass’s original closed captioning feature had limitations in readability and customization, creating significant barriers for dyslexic viewers. These gaps presented an opportunity to reimagine accessibility, offering a tailored and engaging experience that supports inclusivity and strengthens Sky Glass’s competitive positioning.

Guided by a results-driven vision, I collaborated closely with Sky stakeholders, including senior leadership, to reimagine accessibility challenges and deliver a feature that directly improved user satisfaction while aligning with Sky Glass’s strategic growth priorities. I presented the Clear Subtitles solution to Sky’s management team, effectively showcasing its alignment with the organization’s goals and accessibility standards. This engagement secured buy-in for the phased rollout strategy, ensuring organizational support and a seamless path to measurable success.
By bridging innovative design with measurable outcomes, I ensured Clear Subtitles achieved technical excellence while meeting user expectations. Leveraging agile methodologies, I led cross-functional collaboration with engineers, designers, and accessibility experts to ensure seamless execution from ideation to implementation.
